Fiorella Caporalini is a sculptor born in Patagonia Argentina. She began carving wood in 2013 as a self-taught person. She soon developed a special technique, small or large in scope and typically using a chainsaw. Fragmenting wood until it is transformed into a kinetic sculpture. She works with a single length of wood releasing it into several parts. Without any part detaching from the original piece of wood, resulting in a dynamic work.
These sculptures reflect the nobility of wood, the beauty of nature, curiosity for humanity and respect for a traditional craft. Some of these works have received important mentions for excellence in their conceptual influence, technical skill and delicate finishes. She’s held group and individual exhibitions in various locations in Argentina, participated in international sculpture symposiums and participated in large festivals in Europe and the United States. Wood is her main medium but she also likes to explore all types of materials: stones, metals, clay, cement, among others.
